WARNING: Asbestos poses a health hazard when fibers are released into the air and inhaled or ingested. If asbestos has been disturbed or damaged it should be either removed or contained. Any building material that is not glass, wood, steel, yellow or pink fiberglass could contain asbestos and should not be disturbed until it has been tested. Look for materials that have become water-damaged, dented, corroded, blistered, or otherwise damaged in a way likely to release fibers into the air. If you find damaged asbestos containing materials, DO NOT DISTURB IT.

instructions for COLLECTION OF SAMPLE
NOTE: The use of proper respiratory protection is advisable. When applicable, a plastic drop cloth should also be used.
Step 1. Locate the sample location and suspected material.
Step 2. Put on the enclosed plastic gloves to avoid contact between your skin and the sample.
Step 3. Wet the sample location using a spray bottle with a soap and water solution (one teaspoon of liquid soap per quart of water). The sample location should be kept wet throughout the sampling procedure to prevent the release of airborne fibers.
Step 4. Collect a 1” X 1” piece or 1 tablespoon of the sample using a razor knife, chisel or another tool capable of securing a sample of the entire matrix. (Example: the underlying scratch coat beneath popcorn ceiling, pipe insulation and mastic on seams, vinyl flooring including any additional layers of vinyl and/or mastic or glue.) Place the sample in the enclosed plastic bag and proceed to lab results.
STEP 5: LAB RESULTS n Standard Results within 7 days, $40 lab fee per layer n Express Results within 3 business days, $60 lab fee per layer. Place the sample in the plastic bag in the enclosed postage pre-paid envelope along with the information form, and the proper payment amount, money order, credit card payment (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or AMEX only) or check (made payable to PRO-LAB) If you opt to use Express Lab Results you must send your sample to PRO-LAB® using an overnight shipping company such as Federal Express or UPS. Send the test kit to PRO-LAB® 1675 N. Commerce Parkway, Weston, FL 33326. (Express samples can only be received Monday – Friday).
